SCC aim to give help and advice to people who may who need it. We enable people to live as independently as possible at home or in the community working closely with local charities to up-cycle and reuse furniture, reducing landfill waste and benefiting society.

St Oswalds Hospice

St Oswald’s Hospice, based in Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne has provided specialist care for adults, young people, children and babies from across the North East since 1986. In Sunderland and South Tyneside, St Oswald’s provides short breaks for young people, children and babies with progressive life-shortening conditions through their Children and Young Adults service. Their purpose-built facility includes a sensory room, play and music therapy rooms so that children and young people are able to do ‘normal’ everyday things. St Oswald’s is a self-financing, voluntary organisation which needs to raise £7.5 million each year in order to continue to provide care. The Hospice makes no charge for their services – ensuring expert, dignified and compassionate care is available to everyone who needs it.
